Jeanne Beasley, candidate for the Scottsdale Unified School Board

Meet the candidate

Jeanne Beasley

Candidate for the SUSD Governing Board

An SUSD mom of three with experience in the classroom, district oversight, and the legal field, committed to academic excellence, responsible spending, and accountable leadership.

Why Beasley?

As a mom of three sons who attended SUSD, I am invested in our district and committed to ensuring SUSD is competitive in today’s school choice landscape. My experience as a litigation paralegal, substitute teacher, community advocate, and SUSD Audit Committee member has prepared me to bring thoughtful, accountable leadership to the Governing Board.

Her story

Jeanne Beasley’s connection to SUSD began as a mom and volunteer while her three sons attended district schools. Over the years, that involvement grew into deeper service through regular participation in Governing Board meetings and her work on SUSD’s Audit Committee, where she gained firsthand insight into district finances, operations, and decision-making.

As a litigation paralegal, Jeanne brings years of experience researching complex issues, asking thoughtful questions, solving problems, and working collaboratively. She believes strong board leadership requires doing the homework, understanding the details, and making decisions that can be clearly explained to the community.

Jeanne is committed to academic excellence, responsible spending, thriving neighborhood schools, and supporting the parents, teachers, and staff who make SUSD strong. She believes the district must continue improving and innovating to remain competitive in today’s school choice landscape and be a place families actively choose for their children.

Jeanne and her husband have called the community home for 30 years. Her recent work as a substitute teacher has added another valuable perspective, giving her firsthand experience with the opportunities and challenges students and teachers face in today’s classrooms.

What she'll fight for

Keep Schools Open

Seek solutions before closures

Neighborhood schools matter. We will pursue every reasonable solution to keep campuses open, safe, strong, and serving students. Closure should be a last resort.

Put Students First

Prioritize academic excellence

Every board decision should begin with one question: What is best for students? We will keep academic excellence at the center of SUSD's priorities and ensure students have the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Less Screen Time

More hands-on, teacher-led learning.

Technology should support learning, not replace it. We will prioritize teachers, books, writing, discussion, and hands-on experiences to create better balance and more purposeful learning for every student.

Support Parents & Teachers

Listen, collaborate, and empower our community.

Strong schools are built through partnership. We will remain accessible, listen to parents and teachers, value their experience and ideas, and give them a meaningful seat at the table before decisions are made.

Spend Wisely

Put taxpayer dollars into the classrooms we have.

Every dollar matters. We will prioritize students, teachers, and classrooms while scrutinizing administrative costs and spending that does not directly support student success.
